And staying ahead of the game she continues to accomplish. Katherine ‘Kate’ Ann Moss (born 16 January 1974, Addiscombe, Croydon, UK) is one of the most influential, controversial and famous supermodels since 1988 - when she was discovered at JFK airport by (the founder of Storm Model Management) Sarah Doukas. 

Kate has made a great success in the 20-plus-year career and she has managed to remain right at the top, despite being 5’7 which is short for the world of High Fashion. Apart from her impeccable looks, charm and brilliant modelling work on and off the runway - Kate has been known for dating Photographer Mario Sorrenti briefly in the early nineties at the beginning of her career,  actor Johnny Depp, Journalist and Magazine (Dazed and Confused) Editor Jefferson Hack (whom is the father of their 8 year old daughter- Lila Grace) and Rock Star Peter Doherty. However talented these men are, none of them have had the talent of capturing Kate’s heart. But, in 2007 Musician and Guitarist Jamie Hince of rock band ‘The Kills’ managed to capture Kate’s heart after her break-up with Doherty. After dating for 4 years and being engaged for 5 months they decided to tie the knot on the 1st of July, 2011 at St. Peter’s church in the village of Southrop, England. Kate wore a dress created by legendary designer John Galliano and Jamie’s suit was by Stefano Pilati whom is the head designer of luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent. 

Speaking of musicians…Kate has been in numerous music videos of the years. Some of them are: ‘Kowalski’ by Primal Scream, ‘I Just Don’t Know What to Do with Myself’ by The White Stripes, ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight’ by Elton John, ‘Sex with Strangers’ by Marianne Faithfull, ‘Love don’t Bother Me’ by Stage Dolls and ’Delia’s Gone’ and ‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’ by Johnny Cash. Kate appeared in the cover art of Bryan Ferry’s 2010 album Olympia.

She has also provided vocals for songs with bands Babyshambles, Oasis, Primal Scream and The Lemonheads.

Not only has she been involved with music and fashion… but other forms of media and art like comedic short film Blackadder: Back and Forth, were she played roles as Maid Marian and as a fictional Queen of England.

Kate has been involved with charities numerous times. She appeared on a live show ‘Comic Relief does Little Britain live’. She also worked again with charity Comic Relief in 2011, which was a short film called ‘Misery Bear’s Comic Relief starring Kate Moss’. Kate has also been a supporter of the ‘Breakthrough Breast Cancer’ charity, Elton John AIDs Foundation, the Hoping Foundation, the Lucie Blackman Trust, Make Poverty History and Homes of Hope. She also helped launch the SamandRuby charity in 2006.

Moss has been painted by famous artists such as Chuck Close and (the late) Lucian Freud.

Starting in May 2007, Kate collaborated with British retail store Topshop which led on to be 14 collections. The final collection was released in November 2010. Other endeavours have included a handbag collection with French luxury goods house Longchamp - which started in early 2010 and is still going on to this day. 

In September 2007, Kate released her debut fragrance - Kate by Kate Moss - in collaboration with fragrance company Coty . Since then she has gone on to release a further 7 fragrances: Velvet Hour, Summertime, Vintage, Wild Meadow, Vintage Muse, Love Blossoms and LilaBelle. Hopefully, there are many more lovely scents from Kate in the future!

Most recently, Kate has collaborated with London cosmetics brand Rimmel. After working with then for 10 years (campaigns) they released the ‘Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss’ lipstick collection. It includes 7 different shades which were chosen by Kate herself. In the campaign for the collection it states ‘The first collection created by Kate Moss’… This implies that there may be more to come. Another recent collaboration for Kate is with French jewellery company Fred (Joaillier). It includes rings, necklaces pendants, earrings and long necklaces - some of which have been inspired by the models tattoos. 

Kate (now 37) continues to make a difference in the fashion world each and every year. She is an inspiration to the Designers, Models, Artists, Stylists, Make-Up artists… The list goes on. Who would have thought… after being 5”7, constantly being documented by journalists and papparazi and a Cocaine scandal in 2005… this woman would still be making millions yearly and at the top of the game. She really is unstoppable. 

I think one of the best thing about Kate is that you don’t need to be rich and famous to be charmed by her. I am charmed by her through every picture i post or video i see of her. I have made this blog to share pictures,videos, news and words of her with the world, and my love for her goes with it.
