Day 5 of ‘2011 As Kate Moss’: Everything Else [PART 2]

So not the reason Kate Moss has blown up so much (that’s thanks to her looks, charm and mystery) but possibly a part of it… The paparazzi. Just search in youtube ‘Kate Moss Paparazzi’ and you are bound to come up with a list of videos of the paparazzi harassing her and her family. This year, Her knight in shining armour came to the rescue a number of times by getting into fights with the paparazzi.  Although things like this would never happen without people harassing Kate daily… The paparazzi seem to be both a burden and a blessing. Without them, were would we get the wonderful candids of Kate’s style that have later become trends… But also a curse by harassing Kate daily (camping outside her house, following her/sneaking around her life life an annoying fly) and creating/spreading rumours of our favourite Super Model. 

Some things Kate apparently did in 2011: Had a ‘secret’ wedding earlier in the year, made jam as a hobby, wrote a book, planned to retire, was jealous and angry at Jefferson Hack and his new beau, planned to move to Jamaica, was angry at John Galliano… oh Gosh.. the list goes on. True or Untrue… Kate got a lot done in her personal life for 2011. And these things are certain!

Being chosen to be apart of the Pirelli Calander is a huge compliment to a model, not only as a model but being a woman it is a huge compliment. The Pirelli Calander started in 1964 and is known for its limited availability. Only being given to celebrities or as a gift to Pirelli Tyre customers, the calendar features photographs of beautiful women photographed by the most celebrated photographers. The result each year are quality images of prestigious women. Kate has featured in it twice before - 1994 and 2006. For 2012 she was photographed by her ex-love and long-time friend Mario Sorrenti. The final and most spectacular event i will leave you with is the marriage of Kate and Jamie Hince. Also known as ‘The Royal Wedding’, Kate and Jamie tied the knot on July 1st, 2011. The location was the countryside of London… Southrop to be exact. St. Peter’s church will now always be known for the wedding of Kate and Jamie. 

The bride wore a beautiful dress custom made just for her by friend and Legendary fashion designer - John Galliano. The shoes were also custom made, and designed by shoe designer icon Manalo Blahnik. Kate’s hair was styled by Sam McKnight and makeup but Charlotte Tilbury. The groom wore a suit by Stefano Pilati at Yves Saint Laurent. Already sounding glamorous just by hearing a few brand names thrown around, the wedding was certainly no Kardashian media feast. The ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ dubbed event was as anti-publicity as possible. Although, post vows Mr and Mrs Hince stood outside of the church for some paparazzi shots. The reception was held on Kate’s property in Cotswolds. Huge marquees were turned into a romantic reception setting for guests. After reportedly 3 years of dating, it seems the super star couple have got their happy ending. Day 4 of ‘2011 AS KATE MOSS’: Working The Runway

Kate Moss first appeared on the runway in 1993. A short 5’4 teenager, she sure stood out from the curvy 6ft supers of that era. Kate caught the attention of everyone… artists, designers, the public, the media… and the media soon found something to talk about. She was unreasonably blamed for anorexia, and became known as ‘the waif’. The 2000s came around and the supermodel era was over…. New faces and a whole new type of stereotypical model body was born. Kate’s waif figure was the new black… 15 year old waifs were walking down runways all over the world… and as 2012 is literally around the corner s great deal has changed. Kate Moss helped define an era… And every year after she is the reason for new trends as she was the waif. She is a constant inspiration to designers, artists, stylists and regular people.

Kate retired from the catwalk in the early 2000s… But has been an exclusive to a small number of shows since. As a favour to friend Johnny Blue Eyes, Kate returned for one night only at his first fashion show in London - 2008. In 2010 Kate walked for ‘Fashion For Relief Haiti’ - a charity fashion show to raise funds for Haiti, which was devastated by an earthquake. After the show, all items worn by models were put up for Auction. Kate wore a dress from the last collection of her late close friend Lee Alexander McQueen. The auction of her dress raised 100,000 pounds and was won by her friend (and then business associate) Sir Philip Green.

Since those shows she has of course been seen on the front rows of shows such as Chanel, Christian Dior, Hakaan, Mulberry, Miu Miu and YSL.

Leading up to the Paris Fall Fashion shows of 2011, there were rumours that Kate would walk for her good friend Marc Jacobs in his Louis Vuitton show. As fashionistas sat front row and wannabe-fashionistas sat at home watching the live stream hoping to see the superstar strut down the runway, dreams came true. Kate Moss walked for Louis Vuitton Fall 2011 rtw on the 9th of March. Kate strutted down the runway smoking a Marlboro and wore what would be the hottest look for the season in editorial and style.

In October of this year, Marc would use Kate once again in the Louis Vuitton show. Spring, and a complete opposite to the dark/fetish theme of the Fall collection, Kate was seen wearing a beautiful feather embellished dress and makeup fit for a Princess.

I think Kate returning to the runway for 2011 was the most exciting this to happen for Paris Fashion Week, and fashion in general.

They say that people buy with their eyes before any other sense. Maybe this is why Kate Moss on the cover of any magazine.. gossip, fashion or art… sells quick and more than most all other faces on a magazine.

In two thousand and eleven Kate Moss was the fierce face of 13 different high fashion magazines. That’s another 13 added to the 300 + covers she had already appeared on. 2012 hasn’t even started and Kate is already the face of Madison Australia January 2012, there are rumours of a W Magazine cover and there wil no doubt be plenty more.

Dec 31st: Day 4 of ‘2011 AS KATE MOSS’: Working the Runway

Day 2 of ‘2011 AS KATE MOSS’: 15 PERFECT CAMPAIGNS [Part 2 of 2]

The remainder of the campaigns featuring Kate Moss for 2011 aren’t just any campaigns. The products Kate represents for the last 5 advertisements are her own. Handbags, cosmetics and fragrance. As mentioned in part 1, Kate Moss has worked with some big name brands for most of her 20 plus year career. 

Rimmel for example, it has been a 10 year relationship and on this 10th year she collaborated with the cosmetics brand and created her first line of long-lasting lipsticks. Seeing as the campaign read ‘first collection’, i hope that more are created in the future. 

Kate has been the face of Longchamp (luxury leather goods) for 8 seasons, and 4 of which she designed for. Inspired by a lifetime of wearing the most ‘it’ bags ever created, one can understand that Kate would have a great knowledge of what she likes and doesn’t like in a handbag. It is unknown if there will be more from her and long champ next year, but my fingers are crossed.

‘Lila Belle’… The 8th fragrance by Kate Moss in collaboration with Coty. Kate has said that the fragrance is “dedicated to girls who are just learning how to become women, and women who feel like young girls”. 

And of course last but not least…

Kate Moss for Fred. Kate’s first and long awaited fine jewellery collection. Kate Moss has worked for ‘Fred’ before, so the relationship between the English rose and the French brand was already there. The 22-piece collection featuring rings, necklaces and diamonds. Classy and expensive special pieces which are said to be inspired by her tattoos which seems to be a lovely personal touch.

Day 2 of ‘2011 AS KATE MOSS’: 15 PERFECT CAMPAIGNS [part 1 of 2]

Campaigns make the big bucks.. and campaigns makes a models face known. This is what any high fashion model is after every year, and what we anticipate.. Who will get the contract? After 20 years of creating strong relationships with some of the best companies in the fashion industry you don’t even need to think twice about Kate being in campaigns each year. Kate Moss sells.. they know it„ she knows it and i certainly do because most of my money probably goes to Kate-endorsed products. (makeup, accessories, clothes, hell if she advertised for some ridiculous thing like glad-wrap i’d get down to the supermarket and buy all the stock on the shelf).

I’d like to thank all of you thousands of followers and all of those who have submitted, messaged and just plain old supported eatkate… by sharing with friends, reblogging posts and liking them. 2011 was a good year and i hope that 2012 will be an even better year not just for this Kate Moss dedicated blog but for all of you reading this and for of course the star of it all… Kate Moss <3

As 2011 comes to an end, i have been taking the time to reflect what a year Kate has had. I am going to be posting about 5 different categories which Kate has achieved in over 5 days… starting on 28th of December and finishing on the 1st of January. I guess we can call it ‘2011 as Kate Moss’ .
